Arthouses @ Whitley Bay Film Festival draws attention to the North Tyneside coastal area (Whitley Bay, Tynemouth, Cullercoats and North Shields) as creative home to many respected artists, cultural and creative practitioners, from a variety of disciplines and practices.
Building on the success of Arthouse at last year’s inaugural Whitley Bay Film Festival, Arthouses 2011 runs from 6-8pm on the 3 consecutive nights of Friday 19th, Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st August.
Audiences are invited to meet at the Trojan Rooms, South Parade, Whitley Bay at 6pm where they will be given a map to encounter artist’s site specific video, live performance, installations and interventions in a 3 street radius within walking distance of the Trojan Rooms. This year’s exciting locations include 3 houses, gardens, backyards, front windows, a small caravan and an ice cream van. All events are free to the public.
Over 25 Artists are involved including: Kelly Richardson, Sean Maltby, Sneha Solanki, Cath Keay, Lindsay Duncanson, Marek Garbrysh, Richard Broderick, Kiron Hussain John Quinn, Dee Shaw, Tracey Tofield, Ema Lea, Peter Macadam, Lois Hobby, David MacDonald, Patrick Snape, Damon McNally, Louise de Froment, Dave Harland, Oran Milstein, Josie Stewart, Roberta Green, Rebecca Reed and Cody Sowerby, Kate Stobbart.
